Inspired by its bold, complex flavour, Craig Sams sought out only organic farmers using nature-based methods, to ensure that authentic taste in very bite.
Just three years later, in 1994, our orange-infused Maya Gold bar made history as the first UK chocolate to be awarded the Fairtrade Mark. Since then, we’ve remained committed to using the finest organic and Fairtrade ingredients to craft our delicious chocolate.

In 2024, we celebrated 30 years as Fairtrade Certified chocolate brand, reflecting our ongoing dedication to crafting delicious chocolate with exceptional organic and Fairtrade ingredients.

CHOCOLATE
Our organic chocolate is certified by the Fairtrade Foundation. We are proud to say that in 1994 Maya Gold was the first chocolate in the UK to be awarded the Fairtrade mark. The bar was inspired by a traditional Mayan drink of cocoa and spice from Belize. To capture the taste of the bar, we blended dark chocolate with a refreshing twist of orange, perfectly balanced by the warmth of cinnamon, nutmeg and a hint of vanilla
